August 26, 2011 – REI has just installed a vintage console. The Soundtracs Solitaire, fully automated console together with ProTools 9. This new control room will be ready in the fall and we know that all our students are going to really enjoy working with this classic system! REI.....always moving forward!

March 05, 2011 – REI is proud to add to it's staff Chris Slater and Mr. Sherman Thomas. Chris has taken on the responsibility of an alternate instructor for Reason software and assistant to the Director for the presentations. Sherman Thomas E.E. is in charge of our new Troubleshooting and Studio Maintenance Course. Welcome to REI gentlemen!

February 23, 2011 – Just installed, direct from our school in Florida is the outstanding Audio and Video THX Experience 7-1. The Control Room features the World Famous Solid State Logic Digital Console (first full digital console built in 1996 and acquired from NBC's Saturday Night Live Show ). Come see and hear this exciting system in 3D at one of our Wednesday or Saturday Presentations!

March 24, 2010 – The entire staff and students of REI want to pay tribute to the great Johnny Maestro of the Brooklyn Bridge. Johnny passed away today and the music industry has lost yet another icon! Along with being a long-time personal friend of REI Director Jim Bernard, Johnny, and his entire band were REI Graduates way back in 1972. Thank You Johnny for enriching our lives with your amazing vocal talents!

January 01, 2010 – In January, REI will be installing its new Studer A80 24 Track Analog Professional Tape Recorder! This machine is a vintage recorder with a great reputation of being the best of that era. Come see, and hear it at your earliest convenience!

December 05, 2009 – We'd like to congratulate our two new instructors. Chris Randazzo and Jemelle Joseph. Both have been licensed by the NYS Dept. of Ed. and will be starting their teaching roles ASAP! In addition, Chris has taken over the management of the Recording Engineers Association from the former manager Rick Healy. Rick has retired and we wish him all the best. He was a major asset to REI & REA and we'll all miss him.

October 18, 2009 – Propellerhead's new software RECORD was demonstrated by James Bernard their chief product specialist at REI. The presentation was well attended and REI has plans to start courses in January! Once again, REI leads the audio education industry with the introduction of these exciting courses!

May 01, 2009 – As part of their annual Store Record Day, Looney Tunes of Babylon hosted their 9 band show right at the store! Matt Einsidler of REI recorded the event with CD copies for everybody!

May 01, 2008 – REI is proud to announce the opening of our new Mastering room and Reason 4.0 Lab! These facilities will be added to our already extensive workstations incorporating Reason, ProTools HD and Logic Pro!
